This spot for Valspar was one of two created to promote their new color stains on both Social Media and TV broadcast. The two backgrounds (the fence and the deck) and elements were first shot live in New Jersey, we then made an image sequence by adding elements digitally to the scene and printed the stills. After that came the stop motion portion of the process which I supervised and animated, consisting in having the talents moving cutout pieces of those elements while we replaced the background photos. The rotoscoping, compositing and color correction were all done in After Effects at Transistor Studios.
